Let’s take a look at the best predictive dialers, power dialers, auto dialer, and cloud call centers on the market for use with telemarketing, sales, call centers, and lead generation with information on trial availability and quick reviews on price.  Some of these applications are hosted, run in the cloud, use VoIP, and feature integrated CRMs. Whether you’re looking for something just for you or you want full outbound call center software or inbound call center software, you should be able to find something to fit your needs.

If your work responsibilities include calling big numbers of clients and prospects every week, you will need a dialer system to automate your calls for you so you can be as productive as possible with your time. This technology eliminates manual dialing (which can be slow, tedious, and error prone), boosts productivity, and helps you generate many more leads and sales then possible without their help.  Some of the dialers have answering machine detection for outbound calling or automatic call distribution for inbound calling.  Often you’ll get a manager portal for call center campaigns to manage agents, view reports, and control lists.  For most of these dialers, you’ll need a good internet connection (preferably wired) and a USB headset for calling.  Some will not require any kind of phone service or line and are purely soft phones, while others  integrate with your existing hard phones. Another smart option to look for is Local Presence Dialing which can display a local area code for the caller ID no matter where you call to.

We’ll get right into the solutions, and then we’ll briefly go over the types of dialers and differences in the dialer terminology which can be confusing for people new to the industry. Dialer Terminology

Power Dialer / Preview Dialer / Progressive Dialer

This type of dialer is becoming the most popular for a number of reasons.  A power dialer calls phone lists one immediately after the other.  If a number is busy, no answer or disconnected, it rapidly moves to the next call without any input from the user.  If the voice mail comes up, the agent can then click a button to leave a pre-recorded message on the machine.  Depending on the power dialer, it can be personalized with a brief greeting “Hello Jane..” before the recorded message is delivered and the user is moved on to the next call.  The major advantage for power dialers is that you’re more likely to convert leads because there is no “telemarketer delay” that alerts the recipient it’s most likely a sales call.  Also there is a screen with information about the caller that pops up while the phone is ringing giving you additional time to prepare (hence the name Preview Dialer).

Predictive Dialer

A predictive dialer calls phone lists on multiple lines at the same time while live agents wait to speak to a live person.  Top predictive dialers can determine if the phone is answered by a person or by an answering machine.  The agent will typically hear a beep in their ear when a call comes on.  The problem with predictive dialers is that while they call more numbers, often time people will recognize they are being called by a dialer and either be hostile or just hang up.  You can also get into legal trouble if you have too many dropped calls.  However, they do make more calls than a power dialer and if you need to burn through a ton of residential numbers quickly this may be the right option for you.

Cloud Contact Center

A cloud contact center or cloud call center is a term used to describe a more advanced software system for managing a call center up to hundreds of agents through the cloud.  It may include predictive dialing, power dialing, blended dialing and usually has advanced tools to manage call center campaigns, user groups, and lead lists.  The managers will have access to reporting, coaching and monitoring, dashboards, and have the ability to have remote agents and manage them. Some cloud contact center’s include multi-channel for agents to respond to customers in other ways such as by email, social media, or texting.

Auto Dialer

You may often hear auto dialers referred to as voice broadcasting and robocalling.  Essentially, an auto dialer calls lots of numbers and then when someone answers, plays a recorded message such as “If you’re interested in real estate, press 1.”  However, this has become illegal recently in many scenarios such as telemarketing.  In 2013, a major corporation was fined $75,000 for having a “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy when selling these types of dialer systems.  Technically, power dialers and predictive dialers are under the umbrella of automatic dialers, but for our purposes we’ll simply refer to auto dialers as voice broadcasting and robodialing systems.

There you have it–a fast rundown of the best predictive dialers, power dialers, call centers, and top auto dialers available on the market today. Whether your organization is small, medium or large, you are sure to find an automated calling solution in this list that fits the way you work.
